The Cliff's at Calabogie
Description Recognized as one of the best climbing areas in Ontario, the cliffs at Calabogie are busy year round offering climbers a fun and challenging climbing adventure. In Summer it's rock climbing; in Winter the cliffs freeze over and climbers attention then shifts to ice climbing. How to get there From Calabogie, take Hwy. 508 west and go 2.3 km past the Calabogie Peaks Ski Resort. At the very top of the mountain you will pass by the parking area on your right for the Cliff's at Calabogie hiking trail. Do not stop here. Just proceed a little bit further down the mountain and you will find a second parking area on the side of the road to your right. Information To get to the climbing cliffs, cross the road and follow the narrow trail into the woods for 5-10 minutes. The trail is a short one that ends at the base of the cliffs. It should be pointed out that these cliffs can be dangerous. They are intended for experienced climbers with the proper climbing equipment. Amateur climbers should never attempt to climb these cliffs unless they are under the direct supervision of an experienced climber. The area around Eagle's Nest should not be used as a climbing spot as it is considered Sacred, extremely dangerous and unsupervised.
